(Canton, N.Y.) – On Wednesday Oct. 19 at 7p.m. the SUNY Canton women’s soccer team supported finding a cure for breast cancer in their “Kick for a Cure” soccer game; each girl wore pink socks as a tribute. They played Clarkson University on our home field and the women Knights won 2-0 against our Roo’s. Both teams were a success for their representation of a good cause in the battle against breast cancer.
It’s good for everyone to be aware about this disease. According to the North Country Now article “Roo's women's soccer to "Kick for a Cure,” head coach Kate Thomas-Moody said, “I have 24 young women on my team right now and the statistics about breast cancer make awareness vital to me and my team and our amazing campus community.”
There will also be a Pink Glove dance on Oct. 24 at SUNY Canton combined with the Campus Health Center. For more information contact Thomas-Moody at 386-7976.
