POTSDAM – Interviews are being conducted “continuously” in the investigation of the murder of 12-year-old Garrett Phillips last week, according to the Potsdam Police Department.
A press release from the village police said they distributed more than 1,500 fliers Monday near the Market Street apartment where the boy was murdered last week.
The release said they and the New York State Police were canvassing the neighborhood and other areas “and continue to develop leads and evidence supporting this investigation. Interviews are being conducted continuously. Evidence has been submitted to the New York State Police Crime Lab in Albany and police investigators are awaiting the results from this evidence.”
Police set up along Market Street Monday to give the fliers to drivers, asking them to come forward if they were in the vicinity of 100 Market St. on Monday afternoon last week, where the boy and his mother lived in an apartment.
Anyone with information that could be useful to the investigation are asked to call the Potsdam Police at 265-2121.
